Recently, the 2025 plenary session of the International Electrotechnical Commission's Technical Committee on Power Capacitors and Their Applications (IEC/TC33) was successfully held in Freiburg, Switzerland. As an important manufacturing enterprise representative of China's power capacitor industry, Tongfeng Electronics Company fully participated in this international conference and discussed industry technical standards and development directions with expert representatives from 13 countries including Italy, Canada, Germany, Belgium, France, Sweden, India, and China. The company's general manager, Bao Junhua, represented the company as an IEC registered expert at the online conference.

During the conference, the company actively participated in the revision of international standards and attended the IEC/TC33/MT18 and MT21 working group meetings. Support the two new work project proposals put forward by the Chinese delegation. Among them, the proposal of "DC filtering capacitors for high-voltage direct current transmission systems" will provide important standard support for new energy grid connection and high-voltage direct current transmission scenarios, while the proposal of "automatic reactive power controller for low-voltage power capacitor devices" will fill the technical gap of low-voltage automatic reactive power controller standards in the IEC standard system. These proposals have been recognized by experts from multiple countries and have officially initiated the project approval process.

In the appointment process of the convener, after a vote by representatives of all participating member states, IEC registered expert Bao Junhua was successfully re elected as the convener of the IEC/TC33/MT25 working group, continuing to be responsible for the maintenance and revision of the IEC 60252 series standards. This appointment further consolidates China's voice in the formulation of international standards in the field of power capacitors, and provides more favorable conditions for Chinese companies such as Tongfeng Electronics to participate in the revision of international standards.

In the standard review stage, the plenary session adopted the technical opinions submitted by the Chinese delegation before the meeting on the test procedure and fault assessment for S3 type capacitors in the IEC 60252 "AC Motor Capacitors" series standard for simultaneous DC and AC testing. After the vote of all attending member state representatives, it was agreed to initiate the revision of the IEC 60252 series standard, with MT25 convener Bao Junhua leading the work.

The company gained a deep understanding of the latest developments in international standardization work, especially the digital transformation of standardization processes being promoted by IEC, through this meeting. The company representatives had sufficient technical exchanges with experts from various countries, accumulating valuable experience for future product research and development and international market expansion. The company will continue to leverage its technological advantages, actively participate in the formulation of international standards, and promote technological innovation and sustainable development in the power capacitor industry.
