Tongfeng Electronics Co., Ltd. is a national high-tech enterprise, a key high-tech enterprise under the National Torch Program, and a core backbone enterprise of the Tongling Electronic Materials Industrial Base under the National Torch Program. It has established a complete organizational system for scientific research and innovation. The Technology Management Center serves as the overall management body for technological R&D, coordinating all subsidiaries, branches and relevant departments to ensure accurate and efficient advancement of the company’s technological innovation initiatives.

Subordinate to the Technology Management Center are the Capacitor Testing Center and the Thin Film & Capacitor R&D Laboratory. The center also undertakes the construction and operation of three high-level innovation platforms: the Provincial Enterprise Technology Center, Anhui Key Laboratory of High Energy Storage Capacitors and High-Performance Dielectric Film Materials, and the National Postdoctoral Research Workstation.

The Provincial Enterprise Technology Center was established in 1998 with the approval of the Anhui Provincial Economic and Trade Commission. Headed by the company’s Executive Deputy General Manager and Chief Engineer under a director responsibility system, the Center comprises five R&D sub-centers: BOPP electrical film, BOPET film, metallized coating, capacitors, and precision connectors

At the end of 2003, the company was approved by the Ministry of Personnel to set up a postdoctoral workstation, and in April 2004, the company signed an agreement with the University of Science and Technology of China to build a postdoctoral workstation. The Interim Regulations for the Management of Postdoctoral Research Workstation of Anhui Tongfeng Electronics Co.,Ltd., the Implementation Rules for the mid-term Assessment of Postdoctoral Students of Anhui Tongfeng Electronics Co., Ltd., and other relevant systems have been formulated. It has jointly recruited postdoctoral fellows from Hefei University of Technology, Nanjing University and Hefei Institute of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences to carry out research work. A number of postdoctoral researchers are currently working at the workstation, and their research has resolved many of the company’s key technical challenges

This laboratory is capable of conducting a full range of tests: capacitor long-term AC/DC and superposition durability test, high voltage test, self-healing test, partial discharge test, high current impact discharge test, thermal stability test, explosion-proof test, vibration shock test, damp heat and salt spray and other environmental tests and special tests. Particle material and film related performance testing analysis test, thermal analysis test, scanning electron microscope analysis test, surface morphology analysis test and oil thermal decomposition test, etc. It provides reliable support for the company’s product R&D and certification.

The Testing and Calibration Center was officially established in December 2024, with the quality policy of "Scientificity and Impartiality, Accuracy and Efficiency, Rigor and Pragmatism, Innovation as the Driving Force". All personnel engaged in testing management and technical work of the center have been trained, assessed and duly authorized for their positions, and possess solid professional theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

The company has established cooperative ties with well-known domestic and overseas universities, research institutes and enterprises, including Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei Institutes of Physical Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Nanjing University, Wuhan University of Technology, Hefei University of Technology, Central South University, Chongqing University, Tongling University, PetroChina, Sinopec, China Three Gorges Renewables (Group) Co., Ltd., Xi’an High Voltage Apparatus Research Institute Co., Ltd., China Electric Power Research Institute Co., Ltd., and the Polymer Materials Research Institute of Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. (Japan). It has built a high-level industry-university-research cooperation platform to continuously accumulate innovation momentum and provide solid technical support for the high-quality development of the enterprise.

Tongfeng boasts a unique integrated industrial chain of "capacitor film - metallized film - film capacitor products" in the industry both domestically and internationally, and has also ventured into the precision electronic connector business. With over five decades of deep experience in the film capacitor field, Tongfeng has independently cultivated a large number of scientific research and engineering technical talents, accumulating profound practical experience in the industry. It has established professional R&D teams based on product lines, leveraging the resources of the entire industrial chain to integrate upstream and downstream R&D talents, and forming a comprehensive R&D team to collaborate on key challenges, effectively enhancing the efficiency of innovative R&D.
