Recently, Anhui Tongfeng Electronics Co., Ltd. successfully passed the quality system review of Carrier in the United States and became one of Carrier's global procurement suppliers. This not only means that Tongfeng's products will officially go abroad and enter the international market, becoming another strong force in our province's industrial and economic export earnings, but also marks that the company's product quality and management level have reached the international advanced level.

Carrier, which produced the first air conditioner in the world, is known as the "father of the world's air conditioners". With a history of 100 years, Carrier is currently the authoritative enterprise in the global air conditioning industry in terms of quality and technology. Its supplier quality system review standards have new strict requirements on the enterprise's technological progressiveness, continuous improvement mechanism and even human resource mechanism. Tongfeng Electronics underwent its first review by Carrier in 1998. Although multiple evaluations met and exceeded the standards, it failed due to a lack of statistical techniques and quality cost analysis, missing the opportunity. After realizing the gap and shortcomings in international integration, the company's leaders are determined to implement rectification. Firstly, the company has invested heavily in building an information platform, establishing a sound technical network, and has cooperated with relevant software companies to develop ISO9000 quality management system and ERP warehouse management system. They have also trained a backbone team that can master and correctly apply statistical techniques, and vigorously promoted SPC statistical technology. At the same time, a new quality management system with customer satisfaction as the focus and continuous improvement mechanism as the core has been developed, and it successfully passed the 2000 version ISO9001 quality system certification in June last year. In response to certain differences between foreign quality system standards and technical requirements and those in China, the company has established a specialized export technology research and development team to actively digest and absorb foreign technical information, integrate it into the company's management system, and shorten the gap with international advanced standards. After a long period of adhering to strict management, the company's statistical technology has gradually become more advanced and mature, and its quality management system has been further improved. In the 24 evaluations of Carrier's quality system review, except for all qualified ones, five of them reached the highest standard.

It is reported that in competition with multiple companies in the same industry in Shanghai and other places, Tongfeng Electronics is the only enterprise in China that has passed Carrier's quality evaluation. In 2003, it won the bid for a $1 million AC capacitor product in Carrier's global procurement bidding. After sampling and testing, the company's products will be officially exported overseas.
